The Red Polls steers are back on Midsummer Common!

Following last year’s success we have been offered more grazing, all on meadows around the river Cam. This year the cattle will also be able to graze on Grantchester Meadows and on the Trumpington side of the river.

We have overwintered many of the steers on a farm in Tuddenham St Mary, Suffolk and they are looking well, having eaten grass silage and parsnips (the oversize and misshapen ones are sold for cattle fodder) all winter.

All the meat will be from the Red Polls on the Common and local meadows, butchered locally, hung for 3 weeks and vacuum packed, in which ever portions you require.

There are two ways to buy the meat:

To store and freeze: Boxes with a minimum order of £50, with your chosen cuts will be delivered to your door on the dates below. Please choose your meat and the date of delivery with the order form. If you are not in on the day let us know.

For individual cuts and daily purchasing : Waller & Son’s Butchers, 15 Victoria Avenue, Cambridge. The CamCattle meat will be clearly labelled in the shop.
